Job Application Service: Authorization, Disclaimer and Release
1. What the service is
Alex Caro ("I", "me") provides and operates job-search software for you ("you"). You set the search criteria: the roles and job titles you want, where, employers to avoid, and the lowest fit score you'll accept. The software finds jobs that match, judges how well each one fits, and applies to those at or above your minimum, using only the facts, answers and resume you approved.
The software runs on my computer and uses automated browser tools and AI models. I set it up and maintain it. Applications go out from a job-search email address I set up for you.
This is a software service, not an employment agency. I don't place you in a job, represent you to employers or negotiate for you, and no fee depends on whether you're hired.
2. What you authorize
By signing, you authorize the software, operated by me, to act for you within your criteria in these ways:
- Create accounts in your name on employers' job sites (for example Workday, Greenhouse, Ashby and Lever), using the job-search email address.
- Fill out and submit job applications in your name, including any statement on the form that you confirm your information is accurate.
- Read the job-search mailbox to get verification codes and links, application receipts and replies from employers.
- Answer standard application questions (work authorization, notice period, salary expectations, demographic questions and the like) using only the answers you approved.
Neither I nor the software will:
- send any written answer, cover letter or other text in your name unless you have seen and approved that exact text;
- accept or decline an interview or offer for you;
- apply to employers you asked me to exclude;
- use your accounts or mailbox for anything other than your job search.
3. Your responsibilities
The applications are yours. Employers will treat everything in them as coming from you, so:
Accurate information. You confirm that your resume, work history, education, work authorization and other facts you give me are true and complete. I don't verify them.
Approval before anything goes out. Before anything is submitted, you receive a summary of your search criteria and of the facts, standard answers and resume the software will use. Nothing is submitted until you reply approving it. If any of it changes later, you approve again.
Changes. Tell me promptly if anything changes: a new job, a move, your work authorization, your pay expectations, or an employer you want me to avoid.
Statements you approve. Many forms ask you to certify that your answers are accurate. When I tick or confirm those on your behalf, I rely on your approval. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you approved.
Employer contact. Interviews, offers, assessments and negotiation are yours to handle. I try to pass on employer messages that arrive at the job-search address, but I can't promise to see or forward every one, or to do so in time.
4. No guarantees or warranties
I can't promise any number of applications, interviews or offers. Employers decide whom to contact and hire, and many postings close, get filled internally or never reply. How well a job fits is the software's judgment, made from the posting and your profile, and it can be wrong.
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, I make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for your purposes, or that any job is a good fit.
Nothing I tell you is career, legal, immigration or tax advice. I'm not a recruiter for any employer and I don't represent you to employers beyond submitting the applications you approve.
5. Risks you accept
Job site rules. Some job sites' terms of use say applications must be submitted by the candidate personally, or forbid automated tools. Applying through this service may break those terms. A site or employer could then close the account, ignore the application or decline to consider you.
Mistakes. Forms differ and change without notice. Despite my checks, a field can be filled wrongly, an application can be submitted twice, or one can fail without my noticing. Some mistakes can't be undone once submitted.
Employer perception. Some employers prefer that candidates apply themselves and may view a service like this negatively if they learn of it.
Your accounts. Accounts I create on job sites are in your name.
Other clients. The software may apply for other people too, sometimes to the same employers or the same jobs. I don't share one client's information with another.
Outside services. Job sites, the email host and the AI providers can go down, change, or lose or expose data. I don't control them.
You have read these risks, understand them, and choose to use the service anyway. You accept them as your own.
6. Your information
What I keep: your resume, contact details and home address, work history, work authorization, pay expectations, the answers you approve, the jobs found for you and the applications sent, and the logins and messages for the job-search mailbox and job-site accounts.
Where it's kept: on my own computer, in a folder only my user account can read, separate from any other client's.
Who sees it:
| Who | What they receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Employers you apply to | Your application and resume | To consider you for the job |
| Job sites (Workday, Greenhouse, Ashby, Lever and others) | Your account and application | They host the employer's application form |
| Email host (MXroute) | Mail to and from the job-search address | It runs that mailbox |
| AI providers (DeepSeek, Anthropic) | Your profile, resume and job postings | To rate job fit and to fill application forms |
| Search provider (Exa) | Search terms based on your target roles | To find job postings |
AI providers process what they're sent under their own privacy terms; DeepSeek is based in China. I don't sell your information or use it for anything but your job search.
When we stop: after the service ends, I delete your information and job-site logins from my computer and close the job-search mailbox, in my own time. You can ask me to delete it sooner.
7. Release, indemnity and limit of liability
Release. To the fullest extent the law allows, you release me, and anyone helping me provide the service, from all claims, losses and damages connected with the service, whether you know about them now or not. That includes, for example:
- an application that is rejected, ignored, delayed, duplicated, submitted with an error, or not submitted;
- a job-site account that is restricted or closed;
- any employer's decision about you, including withdrawing an interview or offer;
- a delay in forwarding an employer's message;
- the loss, exposure or misuse of your information by a job site, email host, AI provider or other outside service;
- outages or errors in the software and services I use.
Your indemnity. You will defend me and cover my losses, including reasonable lawyers' fees, from any claim by anyone that arises from:
- information you gave me that was untrue, incomplete or out of date;
- statements and answers you approved;
- your breach of this agreement;
- an employer's or job site's claim about applications submitted for you under this agreement.
Limit of liability. If I am found liable despite the release, my total liability for all claims together is limited to the lesser of $100 or the fees you paid me in the 3 months before the claim arose. I am not liable for lost wages, lost job opportunities, lost profits, or any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, even if I was told they were possible.
What this doesn't limit. Nothing in this agreement limits liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited, such as for fraud or intentional misconduct.
Time limit for claims. You must bring any claim within one year after it arises, or it is waived.
Disputes. Any dispute will be resolved by binding arbitration of your individual claims in Boston, Massachusetts, or in small-claims court if it qualifies. You waive any right to a jury trial or to bring or join a class or group action. This agreement is governed by the laws of Massachusetts.
8. Fees and ending the service
Fees: fees, if any, are agreed with you separately.
Ending: either of us can end the service at any time by email. Applications already submitted stay with the employers.
9. General terms
Whole agreement. This is our entire agreement about the service. You aren't relying on any promise that isn't written here. Changes count only if we both agree to them in writing; email is enough.
Severability. If a court finds any part unenforceable, that part is limited as little as needed and the rest stays in effect.
Survival. Sections 3, 5, 6 and 7 keep applying after the service ends.
Electronic signatures. An electronic signature, or an "I agree" email reply from your own email address, counts the same as a handwritten signature.
10. Agreement
Agreement version: 2026-10-01. By signing below, or by replying "I agree" from your own personal email address to the email this came with, you confirm that you have read this agreement, that the information you give me is true, that you authorize the service to apply for jobs on your behalf within your criteria as described above, and that you specifically accept the release, indemnity, limit of liability and arbitration terms in section 7.
